These terms govern your use of P9NW and any product, service, or correspondence offered through it. They are written to be read — not buried — and they apply to every reader of this site. If anything here is unclear, write to the editor and ask.
Acceptance.
By accessing or using P9NW — reading the journal, subscribing to email, making a purchase, or otherwise interacting with the site — you agree to be bound by these terms of use, the privacy policy, the disclaimer, the affiliate disclosure, and the refund and returns policy. Together these form the agreement between you and P9NW.
If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the site. The simplest remedy is to close the browser tab.
Who we are.
P9NW (the “Power Nine Network”) is an editorial project operated by Jim Davis as a sole proprietorship in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States. References in these terms to “P9NW,” “we,” “us,” or “the editor” refer to Jim Davis doing business as P9NW. References to “you” or “the reader” refer to any person accessing or using the site.
Eligibility.
P9NW is intended for readers who are at least thirteen years of age. By using the site you represent that you are at least thirteen years old. If you are between thirteen and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that you have a parent or guardian’s permission to use the site and to enter into any transaction made through it.
To make a purchase through P9NW you must additionally be of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
Your licence to use the site.
Subject to your compliance with these terms, P9NW grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the site for your personal, non-commercial use — reading the work, taking notes for yourself, sharing links with others.
This licence does not include:
- Any commercial use of P9NW content, including resale, republication for profit, or use in a commercial offering of your own
- Reproduction of substantial portions of any essay, treatise, or other work for distribution, with or without attribution
- Modification or creation of derivative works (translations, adaptations, summaries presented as original)
- Use of P9NW content to train, fine-tune, or otherwise develop any artificial-intelligence model, large language model, or machine-learning system, except as expressly permitted in writing by the editor
- Use of automated tools (scrapers, crawlers, harvesters) to collect content from the site at scale
- Removal or alteration of any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice on the site or its content
Intellectual property.
All editorial content published on P9NW — essays, treatises, investigations, the journal, page copy, the visual design and code that produces it, the “P9NW” and “Power Nine Network” names, and the IX wordmark — is the property of Jim Davis, doing business as P9NW, unless explicitly noted otherwise. It is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.
Third-party material reproduced or referenced within the editorial work (book excerpts, historical quotations from authors like Napoleon Hill and Andrew Carnegie, images, citations) belongs to its original copyright holders and is used under fair-use principles or with permission, as appropriate to each instance.
Permitted quoting and reuse.
Short quotations from P9NW (a sentence, a paragraph, a verse from a treatise) are welcome in essays, articles, reviews, scholarship, and conversations, when accompanied by clear attribution and, where on the web, a link back to the original source on p9nw.com.
For anything more substantial — reproducing an entire essay, translating a treatise, anthologising work for republication, using P9NW work in teaching materials, or any commercial reuse — write to the editor first. Reasonable requests are usually granted; unreasonable ones are usually declined politely.
Acceptable use.
When using P9NW, you agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, related systems, or other readers’ accounts or data
- Interfere with, disable, or disrupt the site’s operation — including by transmitting malware, mounting denial-of-service attempts, or abusing forms, comments, or APIs
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any individual or organisation
- Use the site to harass, threaten, defame, or otherwise harm any person
- Submit content that is false, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes any third party’s intellectual-property or privacy rights
- Use the site to send unsolicited commercial communications, chain letters, or other spam
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of any software powering the site, except as permitted by law
P9NW reserves the right to investigate suspected violations, to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time, and to cooperate with law-enforcement authorities in the investigation of unlawful conduct.
Email subscription.
By subscribing to the journal or any other P9NW email list, you consent to receive editorial communications from P9NW at the address provided. The kinds of communications, the cadence, and the unsubscribe mechanism are described in the privacy policy.
You are responsible for providing an accurate email address and for keeping it current. You may unsubscribe at any time using the one-click link in any editorial or promotional email. Transactional emails — receipts, delivery of purchased items, customer-service responses — may continue as required to service the underlying transaction.
Purchases and digital products.
P9NW may, from time to time, offer paid products through the site — treatises, books, paid memberships, recorded talks, course materials, or other editorial work. When you make a purchase, the following additional terms apply:
- Specific terms at point of sale. The product description, price, delivery method, and any product-specific terms (e.g., licence terms for digital downloads, access terms for memberships) are presented at the point of sale and form part of the agreement for that purchase.
- Currency and payment. Unless otherwise stated, prices are listed and charged in U.S. dollars. Payment is processed by Stripe; P9NW does not store payment card details.
- Digital products and licences. Purchase of a digital product (PDF, ebook, course access, etc.) grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own purposes. It does not transfer ownership of the underlying work and does not grant you the right to resell, republish, or distribute the file or its contents.
- Memberships and recurring subscriptions. If P9NW offers a recurring membership, the cadence, renewal terms, and cancellation mechanism will be made plain at signup. You may cancel future renewals at any time through the account interface or by writing to the editor; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless otherwise stated.
- Availability. Products are offered subject to availability and may be withdrawn or modified at any time without notice. If you have already paid for a product that is subsequently withdrawn before delivery, you will receive a refund.
Refunds and returns.
Refund terms for specific products are described in the refund and returns policy and in the terms presented at point of sale. In the absence of more specific terms, the default refund policy described on that page applies.
Affiliate links.
P9NW participates in affiliate programs — principally the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and ClickBank — through which it may earn a small commission when readers purchase recommended books, audiobooks, or other items via links from the site. This relationship is disclosed in full in the affiliate disclosure.
The editorial principles governing P9NW’s use of affiliate links — that recommendation precedes commission, that the writer uses or has read what is linked, and that affiliate income is supplemental rather than primary — are described there.
External links and third-party content.
P9NW links to external websites, books, papers, and other works as part of its editorial work. A link should be read as “this exists and may be of interest,” not as a blanket endorsement of everything the linked source has published. P9NW has no control over external content and is not responsible for its accuracy, completeness, or continued availability.
Your use of any third-party site or service is at your own risk and is governed by the terms and privacy practices of that third party.

The work published on P9NW is editorial and educational in nature. It does not constitute legal, financial, tax, investment, medical, psychological, or other professional advice, and should not be relied upon as such. See the disclaimer for the full statement.

Disclaimers and “as is”.
The site and all content, products, and services offered through it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, P9NW disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
P9NW does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components; that content will be accurate, complete, or current; or that results obtained from the site will meet your requirements. Your use of the site is at your sole risk.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions, the exclusions above apply to the maximum extent permitted by local law.
Limitation of liability.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall P9NW, its operator, or any affiliated party be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including, without limitation, damages for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or loss of goodwill — arising out of or in any way connected with the site, its content, or any product purchased through it, whether based in contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise, and whether or not P9NW has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the extent that any liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, the total aggregate liability of P9NW arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the site shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to P9NW in the six months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for certain damages; in those jurisdictions, the limitations above apply to the maximum extent permitted by local law.
Indemnification.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless P9NW, its operator, and any affiliated parties from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your use of the site, (b) your violation of these terms, (c) your violation of any rights of a third party, or (d) any content you submit, post, or otherwise transmit through the site.
Termination.
P9NW may, in its discretion and without prior notice, suspend or terminate your access to the site — in whole or in part — for any reason, including a violation of these terms, lawful request by an authority, or technical or business reasons. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) shall continue in effect after termination.
You may stop using the site at any time. Unsubscribing from email and discontinuing access are sufficient to terminate any ongoing relationship; for paid memberships, see the cancellation terms in the membership’s own description.
Governing law and disputes.
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or your use of P9NW, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Any legal action or proceeding arising under these terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you waive any right to a jury trial of any such action or proceeding.
The application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is expressly excluded.
Severability and entire agreement.
If any provision of these terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These terms, together with the privacy policy, disclaimer, affiliate disclosure, refund and returns policy, and any product-specific terms presented at point of sale, constitute the entire agreement between you and P9NW with respect to the site and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
P9NW’s failure to enforce any provision of these terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or of any other.
Changes to these terms.
These terms may be updated as the editorial work and its operations evolve. The current version is always the one published at this URL; the “effective” date in the header above reflects the most recent material revision.
For material changes affecting your rights or obligations — significant new restrictions, new product terms, or changes to dispute-resolution mechanisms — existing subscribers will be notified by email at least thirty days before the change takes effect. Continued use of P9NW after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not accept the updated terms, your remedy is to stop using the site.
