Refunds and returns.

Volume I · effective MMXXVI

Two tracks. Products purchased through affiliate links on P9NW — books from Amazon, downloads from ClickBank vendors, or anything else bought from a third party — are governed by that merchant’s own refund policy. Products purchased directly from P9NW are governed by the terms shown on that product’s sales page, with the defaults below filling in where a sales page is silent.

Affiliate purchases.

When you click an affiliate link from P9NW and buy something from the destination merchant, the transaction is between you and that merchant — not between you and P9NW. P9NW never sees your payment information, never processes the order, and has no ability to issue a refund.

For refunds, returns, or any other transaction matter related to an affiliate purchase, contact the merchant directly:

  • Amazon — refunds and returns are handled through your Amazon account at amazon.com/orders, subject to Amazon’s standard return policy.
  • ClickBank vendors — ClickBank operates a standard refund policy that generally allows refund requests within sixty days of purchase; requests are made through ClickBank’s customer-service interface at clkbank.com or by emailing [email protected] with your order receipt.
  • Other affiliated merchants — refer to the merchant’s own refund policy, typically linked from the receipt or order-confirmation email.

If you experience difficulty obtaining a resolution from an affiliate merchant and the issue concerns something P9NW recommended on editorial grounds, you are welcome to write to the editor. P9NW cannot intervene in the transaction itself, but persistent quality problems with a merchant inform whether their material continues to be linked from the site.

Direct P9NW purchases.

For products purchased directly from P9NW — treatises, books, paid memberships, recorded talks, course materials, or other editorial work — the refund and return terms specific to that product are presented at the point of sale. Those terms take precedence over the defaults below.

If a P9NW sales page is silent on refund terms, the following defaults apply as the fallback.

Default terms when a sales page is silent.

Digital downloads (PDFs, ebooks, audio files).

A full refund will be issued on request within fourteen days of purchase, provided the file has not been redistributed and the request reflects a genuine reconsideration rather than an attempt to retain the content while reclaiming the price. Refunds requested after fourteen days will be considered on a case-by-case basis but are not guaranteed.

Paid memberships and recurring subscriptions.

You may cancel future renewals at any time through your account interface or by writing to the editor. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; the remaining unused portion of the current period is not refunded by default, but access to the membership continues until that period ends.

If a renewal was charged in error — for example, because cancellation was submitted but not processed — write to the editor within fourteen days of the charge and a full refund of that renewal will be issued.

Live cohorts, programs, or events.

Where P9NW offers a live program (a cohort, study group, or event with a fixed start date), a full refund will be issued for cancellations requested at least fourteen days before the program’s start date. Within fourteen days of the start date, refunds are at the editor’s discretion; after a program begins, fees are non-refundable, though the seat may, with the editor’s agreement, be transferred to a future cohort.

Physical books or printed materials.

If P9NW ships a physical item, returns are accepted within thirty days of delivery for items in resalable condition. Return shipping is at your expense unless the item was damaged in transit or shipped in error, in which case P9NW covers return shipping and refunds in full.

How to request a refund.

To request a refund on a direct P9NW purchase, write to the editor with:

  • The order number or transaction reference from your purchase receipt
  • The email address used at purchase
  • A brief note about the reason for the request

Detailed explanations are appreciated but not required. P9NW does not interrogate refund requests for digital products within the standard window; the assumption is that a reader who wants their money back has a reason worth respecting.

Timing and form of refund.

Approved refunds are processed within five business days of receipt of the request. Refunds are issued to the original payment method — the same card or account used for purchase — and appear on your statement within five to ten business days after processing, depending on your bank or card issuer.

Refunds cannot be issued to a different payment method, gift-card balance, or account other than the one used for purchase.

Defective or undeliverable digital products.

If a downloaded file is corrupted, the download link does not work, or a digital product is otherwise undeliverable, write to the editor with the order number and a description of the problem. The expected resolution is a new, working delivery of the same product — not a refund — unless the problem cannot be resolved within a reasonable period, in which case a full refund will be issued.

Consumer rights — EU and UK readers.

Readers located in the European Union or the United Kingdom have certain statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Directive (EU) and the Consumer Rights Act (UK), including, in many cases, a fourteen-day right of withdrawal from contracts entered into at a distance, without giving any reason.

This withdrawal right is, by EU and UK law, lost for digital content once supply has begun with the consumer’s express consent and acknowledgement that the withdrawal right is therefore lost. By purchasing and accessing a digital download from P9NW, you acknowledge this. The fourteen-day P9NW default refund policy above still applies and is generally more favourable than the statutory minimum.

For non-digital products (physical books, future printed materials), the statutory fourteen-day withdrawal right applies as set out in EU and UK law.

A note on chargebacks.

If a refund request is unresolved or you believe a charge is in error, P9NW would much prefer that you write to the editor first rather than filing a chargeback with your card issuer. Direct contact is almost always faster — refunds processed by P9NW arrive within a week; chargeback disputes can take months — and it avoids the additional fees and administrative burden that chargebacks impose on small editorial businesses.

Reasonable refund requests are met without argument. Filing a chargeback as a first response to a dispute that could have been resolved by an email is one of the few things that will result in your being declined as a future customer of P9NW.

Sales tax and currency.

If sales tax or VAT was collected on the original purchase, it will be refunded along with the principal amount. Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original transaction; any exchange-rate variation between the date of purchase and the date of refund is borne by the original card issuer, not P9NW.

Disputes.

If you are unsatisfied with the resolution of a refund or return request, write to the editor with the subject line “Refund Escalation.” The editor will personally review the request and respond within ten business days with a final position.

For any further escalation, refer to the dispute-resolution and governing-law provisions of the terms of use.

Changes to this policy.

This policy may be updated as P9NW’s product offerings evolve. The current version is the one published at this URL; the “effective” date in the header reflects the most recent material revision. Material changes to refund terms applying to specific products will be reflected on those products’ sales pages, which always take precedence over the defaults stated here.
