The Four Pillars.
The first pillar is the power of mind. This is the substrate — what William James called attention, what the Stoics called prosoche, and what every serious contemplative tradition has named under a different word. Without attention there is no discipline; without discipline, no habit; without habit, no architecture. The work of the first pillar is interior and almost entirely invisible. It is also the work that everything else rests on.
The second pillar is positive thinking and habits. Read carefully: not positive thinking as a self-help genre, but positive thinking as a trained disposition — what Norman Vincent Peale described as a discipline, what William James also described as a habit of the will, and what every contemplative tradition has called the long cultivation of a mind that turns toward life rather than away from it. The habits that compound. The routines that hold under pressure. The optimism that is a practised stance, not an emotion.
The third pillar is true masterminds. This is the place where the modern derivatives stray furthest from the source. Hill's mastermind was not a coaching package; it was a small, carefully chosen alliance of minds meeting at the cadence of seasons, on a horizon of decades, under conditions of confidentiality, with a shared purpose. The nine laws of its practice are summarised below. They are not new. They are recovered.
The fourth pillar is the architecture of wealth. Not the marketing of wealth, which is everywhere; not the recipes for fast money, which are nowhere of consequence. The Practice.

The short version: a definite chief aim, written and revisited. A small alliance, chosen with care. Harmony of purpose above harmony of personality. Confidentiality as the price of admission. Counsel given freely, never sold within the room. Cadence — the meeting kept, in season and out. Specialised knowledge, generously offered. Emotional discipline under pressure of disagreement. And a standard of conduct outside the room equal to within it.
They are demanding. They are also achievable, and they describe a practice that has been honoured for over a century by the people who built fortunes worth keeping.
